Loraine Bant – Chair

I have played for three Hockey clubs - Stratford upon Avon Ladies, Chesterfield Ladies, and Canterbury Ladies as well as playing for my school, county, and PE College – Chelsea College of PE.

Whilst I was playing at Canterbury, I started coaching the district team and then the Girls County squads (U13 – U18 age groups). I continued coaching the county teams and gradually started managing and later, coaching the East Girls U15 and then 17 squads.

I chaired the East Junior Competitions Committee and sat on the East Region Hockey Board for over twenty years, was the last President of the East Region before it became one of the new eight areas. I have also been President of Kent Hockey.

I spent my working life in education – teaching PE and leading the subject in schools until I became a Senior Leader.

Ben Holder - Vice-Chair

My Hockey career peaked when I was selected to play one match for Somerset Under 16. This selection was perhaps not as glamorous as it sounds as a flu epidemic robbed the team of the Millfield contingent leading to a last minute panic for substitutes. The 1 – 0 win against Gloucestershire will always remain with me however.

Subsequently I have represented Reading University, The Wimbledon Club and Tunbridge Wells and I currently play for Tonbridge Black Knights. I am Level II England Hockey Qualified and have coached at Senior and Junior level for Tunbridge Wells and at Development and Academy Centres in Kent. I am also a Kent Level 1 Assessed Umpire.

I currently am not affiliated to a Club, but continue to visit many Clubs in the South East region as a taxi service for my daughter.

If Somerset should once again find themselves desperate for Over 50’s Masters players, I am available for a last minute call up.

Tiffany  Seymour  - Governance

I am a Trainee Solicitor at a local authority, due to qualify in October 2022. I have experience in ensuring compliance with statute, corporate governance, guidance and codes of practice. I play hockey for Brighton & Hove Hockey Club.

John Thompson - Operations

I've been involved in hockey since school, in a playing, umpiring and administrative capacity. I am currently Secretary at Fleet & Ewshot HC, a post I've been in since 2008. During that time the club has doubled in size and has had two successful ClubMark accreditations, expanded from six to ten adult teams, and seen a growth in juniors to almost 200 junior members with teams at all age groups. I am also captain of the FEHC Men's 5s. Since 2012 I was Secretary of Hampshire HA until last year. Latterly, I've been co-opted on to the SE transition group as FEHC has elected to join this area.

Mark Hollis - Director

I’ve been involved in hockey from school, club, County and regionally in the North West before moving to London. Moving to Sussex in 2000 and supporting children a sporting ambitions saw me coaching the juniors at Crawley before moves to East Grinstead where I again helped coach and manage various sides as well as main committee roles, ladies Treasurer, Vice Chair and Chair over a 15 year period  before moving further South in 2021 . Co-opted to the transition group and subsequently to the new South East board. I continue to umpire regularly as a South East umpire.

Ian Anguige - Finance

I have played hockey from the early 1970s in the Midlands and moved into officiating over the last 15 years. I am a Regional umpire (level 2).

I was treasurer and then chair of Crawley Hockey Club for many years up to around 2014 before becoming treasurer of Sussex HA until 2018. In addition to this I have been treasurer of Sussex HUA since 2013.

I have worked as an accountant since 1977 and was a partner in a practice in Redhill, Surrey for around 8 years before setting up on my own in 2006.
