South East Hockey Futures

Information about the South East Hockey Futures

SHARE

South East Hockey Futures (SEHF) is a regional system designed to help hockey clubs reach more schools, more children, and more communities — sustainably, not sporadically.

1. How does South East Hockey Futures work?

Clubs that fall under the South East area apply to South East Hockey Futures during defined application periods for funding and support that can cover the following;

  • Coaching delivery.
  • Pitch hire.
  • Equipment.
  • Membership bursaries.
  • Transition activities from school to club.

The support can aid in introduing hockey into schools, which can then be directly linked to;

  • Club taster sessions.
  • Trials and juniors sections.
  • Long-term player pathways into adult hockey and beyond.

2. What is South East Hockey Futures aim?

By September 2026, South East Hockey Futures aims to;

  • Reach 99 schools across the South East.
  • Introduce thousands of children to hockey.
  • Help clubs build stronger, more sustainable junior sections.

South East Hockey Futures is a long-term system, not a one-off funding pot.

3. Why South East Hockey Futures matters?

Unfortunately, volunteers and goodwill alone don't scale, so South East Hockey Futures helps clubs do what they already want to do by giving them additional support and a proper structure in order to achieve their goals.

The support that South East Hockey Futures provides helps to ensure that the clubs can do what they already want to do with more consistency and increased sustainability.

4. Get involved in South East Hockey Futures!

Who we want to get involved and how;

Schools: help bring hockey back onto their facilities.

Clubs: deliver inclusive, high-quality entry points into the game.

Businesses: partner with South East Hockey Futures to support grassroots sports across the South East.

Our Partners.

South East Hockey Futures works with a small number of aligned partners who actively enable hockey access, delivery, and sustainability across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. These are not passive sponsors. Each partner plays a defined role in removing barriers to participation and strengthening the grassroots game.

Our partners so far;

  • Grays Hockey – Official Performance & Equipment Partner.
  • Mr Cricket Hockey – Grassroots Retail & Club Support Partner.
  • Elks Hockey – Innovation & Growth Partner.

We are actively developing further partnerships with organisations that want to make a measurable, long-term difference to grassroots hockey across the South East.

A Shared Commitment.

Each South East Hockey Futures partner is selected for alignment, integrity and practical impact. Together, these partnerships allow SEHF to focus on what matters most:

  • Delivering hockey into schools and communities.
  • Supporting clubs to grow sustainably.
  • Reducing cost barriers for families.
  • Investing in coaching, access and participation.

This is partnership with purpose — and it’s how grassroots hockey cracks on!
