SOUTH EAST HOCKEY LTD AGM 2023 – NOMINATIONS CALL - MESSAGE TO CLUB CHAIRS & SECRETARIES

Are you interested in getting involved in running hockey in the South East - Board and Committee roles available for the 2023-24 season.

South East Hockey one of the 8 Areas set up as part of the new Governance structure for hockey, vote approved by clubs, in March 2021. Formed in July 2021, SE Hockey is responsible for organising, developing and running a wide range of hockey across Kent, Surrey and Sussex: 

  • South East Adult leagues for men and women with over 400 teams, including indoor competitions
  • South East Junior competitions, and including schools' and indoor competitions
  • South East Masters hockey including representative teams
  • South East  Officiating including development of young umpires and appointments 
  • Area Discipline 
  • as well as opportunities to bring over 80 hockey clubs together across the South East to continue to develop our sport and opportunities to play 

We have a great group of volunteers who have worked together during our first season to get SE Hockey up and running and there are a range of ways to get involved for the 2023-24 season from Board roles to Divisional Secretaries including:

  • Board Directors: Finance, Governance and Operations
  • Committee Chairs: Junior Competitions; Adult Competitions and Masters
  • Committee Members: on our four main committees: Junior, Adult, Masters and Officiating 
  • Specific roles including: Adult League Division Secretaries

EOI's are welcomed from across the South East Hockey family and a balance of people from across all types of clubs, all main geographic areas to and reflect the diversity as part of our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Depending on the role the next step will be for review of all EOI's by the South East Nominations and Remunerations Committee and any follow up with candidates. The following roles will then be put forward for election by South East Hockey members as part of the 2023 AGM process and the results announced at the AGM.

  • Board Directors for: Finance, Governance and Operations
  • Committee Chairs for: Adult, Junior and Masters 

The Officiating Committee Chair is nominated by the SE EHO Branch and other committee roles will be reviewed and appointed by the Board of SE Hockey.

 The SE Discipline Administrator is appointed by the Board of SE Hockey in consultation with England Hockey.

 We know the South East has many passionate people who love their hockey and the opportunity to continue to develop what we offer for all ages and abilities and we look forward to more people getting involved in 2023-24.

The South East Hockey AGM is on Tuesday 11th July 2023, details will be sent out by the calling notice in the near future.
